Stadium 974 (Arabic: استاد 974, romanized: ʾIstād 974, formerly Ras Abu Aboud Stadium) is a football stadium in Ras Abu Aboud, Doha, Qatar. It is the first temporary venue in FIFA World CupTM history. It is made from 974 recycled shipping containers, that will host the matches of the FIFA 2022 World Cup.
The innovative 40,000-seat venue has a remarkable design and will be the first fully demountable tournament venue in FIFA World Cup™ history. This sets a new standard in sustainability and introduces bold new ideas in tournament legacy planning. It is one of the dedicated venues for the 2022 FIFA world cup.
The stadium will host the seven matches of the 2022 FIFA world cup which includes a Round of 16 and group matches. Stadium 974 is one of the most innovative stadiums in FIFA history, one who wants to be part of this FIFA must go and visit this stadium.
The FIFA federation has announced the schedule for the FIFA World Cup 2022. A total of seven matches will be played at this venue. Stadium 974 has a seating capacity of 40,000. It is the first temporary stadium made for the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar, After World Cup, the stadium will be dismental. This season Qatar will host the biggest sports event of football. The tournament will begin on November 20, 2022, while the final will be staged on 18 December 2022 which coincides with Qatar National Day. About Stadium 974
The concept of the stadium was designed by Fenwick Iribarren Architects. The stadium is constructed on a 450,000 square-meter waterfront site and is situated on an artificial promontory. The construction of the stadium involved HBK Contracting Company (HBK), DCB-QA, Time Qatar, Fenwick Iribarren Architects (FI-A), Schlaich Bergermann Partner, and Hilson Maron.
